Missouri Controlled Substance Laws/BNDD (with Jeffrey Prosser)
Doors open at 6:00 pm, speaker at 7-9 Speaker bio: I am a retired Police Officer with 22 years of experience with the Maplewood Police Department, Ballwin Police Department and the Wentzville Police Department. I am currently working for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Service, Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. I started as a Senior Investigator with BNDD in September 2017 and was promoted to Asst. Bureau Administrator/Chief Investigator in August 2023. I proudly served our country as an officer in the US Army Reserve and served during Operation Joint Guard in Bosnia. Missouri Controlled Substance Laws/BNDD Lecture Summary: Veterinarians will receive an overview of the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD) and their responsibilities when dealing with controlled substances per Federal and State law and regulations. Feel free to submit questions in advance for our speaker to answer! Sharpen your eye skills! Learn to spot tricky eye diseases, avoid common pitfalls, and improve testing, diagnosis, and treatment. Join Us for a Continuing Education Event at The Animal Neurology Center Dr. Kelli Zimmerman of Animal Eye Associates presents an updated version of “Ophthalmology Faux Paws,” a practical, case-based course focused on the ophthalmic conditions most commonly misdiagnosed or mismanaged in everyday veterinary practice. This engaging session emphasizes simple, effective tips and clinical pearls to enhance ophthalmic testing, diagnosis, and treatment for both veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The course begins with a concise review of essential ocular anatomy, including the lacrimal system, nasolacrimal drainage system, and cornea. From there, participants will explore common ophthalmic conditions such as dry eye disease, corneal ulcers, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and glaucoma—learning how to recognize key findings, differentiate causes, and select appropriate initial treatment plans. Commonly used ophthalmic medications will also be reviewed, with a focus on proper use, contraindications, and avoiding common pitfalls. From Presentation to Plan: Studies in Small Animal Internal Medicine | University of Missouri
Our theme for the CE event is “From Presentation to Plan: Studies in Small Animal Internal Medicine,” which will include case-based discussions that highlight different topics. We are planning on having a wide range of lectures for veterinarians and technicians on topics (see attached!) Veterinarians who attend the CE will get 8 hours of CE credit. The tentative fees are discussed in the attached document. These fees are subject to change. The event would be October 5th, from 8:00am-5:00pm, at the University of Missouri (Adam’s Conference Center). Attendance can either be in person or via Zoom.
