Summary: Assists the Animal Medical Center of Mid-America (AMCMA) in providing excellent
customer service to the public by responding to callers. Always maintains an empathetic, positive,
and professional public image.
This position requires a higher level of veterinary knowledge than a Contact Center Representative
can provide and gives general assistance to the clinics as needed. The goal of this position is to
improve client satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.) Take customer calls that are medically related; will decide if veterinarian needs to be contacted
and will ensure the customer is responded to in a timely and professional manner.
2.) May take other contact center calls as needed.
3.) Monitors callbacks and communication on taskboard.
4.) Accurately keep records of customer visits, interactions and transactions, recording all
pertinent details in the Happitu software system and medical records.
5.) Manage finances by correctly quoting or charging for services requested, collect deposits or
payments, balancing a cash drawer or arrange for billing according to AMCMA protocols.
6.) May assist clients at discharge with all necessary instructions, information, invoices,
medications (per the veterinarian’s instructions), future appointments and personal
belongings.
7.) May refill prescriptions.
8.) Educate customers on preventative care, retail products, pet health needs and hospital
services.
9.) Assists the front desk team with paperwork as needed.
10.) May conduct training (does not include animal restraint) for veterinary assistants; may initiate
follow up to ensure that employee is properly trained on certain procedures.
11.) Ability to adhere to established AMCMA/HSMO Procedures and Protocols (Per AMCMA
Training Guide), Safety Standards and Customer Service Standards.
12.) Ensures that all refillable secondary containers are properly filled and labeled according to
OSHA standards.
13.) Prepares inventory request forms and seeks appropriate approval to maintain adequate
supplies.
14.) Recommends and suggests ways to improve the veterinary services on a continuous basis.
15.) Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with their department coworkers and
organization employees.
16.) At all times treats animals humanely with respect and concern and educates others about these
values and our mission.
17.) Responsible for following all HSM and departmental safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or
ability required.
1.) Education/Experience: Has a current Registered Veterinary Technician Missouri license and
at least 5 years of experience as an RVT.
2.) Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help pets and people. Must be able to feel
and express a genuine liking for animals and for working in an animal care environment.
3.) Active Listening & Speaking: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking
time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting

4.) Computer Skills: Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software:
eVet Practice, Ring Central, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and internet browsers.
5.) Interpersonal / Conflict Resolution Skills: Ability to maintain composure in a busy work
environment. Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed
and/or focused on individual tasks. Can maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other
employees. Maintain empathy and authenticity when dealing with euthanasia, emergencies,
and emotional clients. Always displays tact and diplomacy with staff members and clients.
6.) Intellectual Ability: Accurately and consistently follows instructions delivered in an oral,
written or diagram format. Can provide directions.

- Classified advertising runs at the sole discretion of the GSLVMA Board of Directors, and may be refused for any reason.
- “Featured” or “Bump-Up Ads” are prohibited.
- Ads will stay in the order they are received on the classifieds page until a.) we are notified to remove a specific ad, or b.) an ad has been on the website for six months, whichever occurs first. A classified ad will not be bumped up or reinstated within these parameters unless it is “distinctly different” from the previous ad. “Distinctly different” will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the GSLVMA Board of Directors.
