The AVMA Council on Education (AVMA COE) conducts ongoing review of the Standards based upon changes in the educational and professional community. Driven by a demonstrated need to ensure the Standards continue to support and protect students while enabling colleges and schools to comply with federal laws, varying state laws, and evolving federal policies, the Council reviewed Standard 1, Organization; Standard 4, Clinical Resources; Standard 6, Students, Standard 7, Admissions, Standard 8, Faculty, Standard 9, Curriculum, Standard 11, Outcomes. The Council recommended revisions in Standards 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 to the Standards of Accreditation in the Accreditation Policies and Procedures of the AVMA Council on Education.

The proposed revisions to the Standards of Accreditation (added text is underscored, deleted text is struck) and are posted on AVMA website: AVMA Council on Education | American Veterinary Medical Association

The Council encourages the engagement of its stakeholders in this important process.
