Internal Medicine with Christine Cocayne, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

Christine Cocayne, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), grew up in St. Louis. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO in 2000. She then attended the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, MO where she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She spent 4 years at a general practice in St. Louis before returning to the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center for a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine (SAIM) in 2008. She performed her residency jointly with Associated Veterinary Specialists (AVS) in Bridgeton, MO. Dr. Cocayne became a Diplomate of the ACVIM (SAIM) in 2011. From 2011 until January 2024 Dr. Cocayne worked at AVS as an associate internist. Dr. Cocayne left AVS on January 15, 2024 to start Advanced Veterinary Healthcare, a mobile internal medicine practice.

 

Lecture Titles/Summaries:

  1. Lecture title: Diagnosing causes of polyuria and polydipsia in dogs
    Lecture Summary: The lecture will review causes of PU/PD in dogs and diagnostic tests to use in patients with PU/PD.
  2. Lecture title: Unregulated diabetes mellitus in dog: Is it hyperadrenocorticism?
    Lecture Summary: The lecture will review causes of unregulated DM in dogs, and particularly the possible presence of hyperadrenocorticism.

Dr. Cocayne is willing to take questions from members – please send them in advance to Dr. Betsy Marziani.
